I've been here about 4 or 5 times, its not grosss but not great either. The menu is very very limited..dont eat here if you dont eat much meat or if you just like fish & seafood. There are like 2 things on the menu for you..Mostly shrimp..and it isnt very good. All of the food is so heavy..and you can do better at home.. I think people like it more for the environment, school aged kiddies love it because of the way its decorated. So, if its for the kids go ahead..Other than that..Go somewhere else. Theres 4 other resturaunts within a half mile

Dropped in this place for lunch yesturday, and I now remember why I stopped going here.... I was seated immedieatly (tho I was by myself and they just started seating for lunch) and the waitress was very friendly... thats about where the good part stops... The sushi was very soggy.. There wasnt even an attempt at a "show" (tho I dont know if this was because I waw there for lunch or if they just dont do it anymore - I know the lunch doesnt include salad and the 2 shrimp aptizer and thats the only major differience I noticed from the dinners and at about $10 cheaper). The chef shorted 2 people at the table a piece of shrimp that they ordered with their meal (I got the normal 5 and the other 2 only got 4 each, they ordered the chicken & shrimp and I got a seafood special w/ side of shrimp).... The food was overcooked (tho some might like this if you like you meat cooked well done)...... The place at Herndon and Fowler (Tokyo Steak House?) is much better and CLEANER!!! I eat Tapenyaki about once a week. Used to come here, then went to try out the other place... MUCH BETTER FOOD.. I regret coming back here for lunch and wont do it again!!!!!!! There are lots of talk about good and bad chefs.. check out the color of your chefs hat.. now think karate and the belts........ The one good chef I know of here is a guy named "B"... If you want a good meal ask for him...

My husband and I have fallowed this group of sushi slingers around to several different restaurants over the years. They even catered our wedding rehearsal dinner. Lee and Ty always take care of us and our family very nicely. I have eaten a lot of sushi all over California and this is always the best. The fish is fresh. The rolls are huge. You can't beat the price. Whenever we are visiting our family in Fresno we eat here several times before we go home. The bad part.... The service is usually horrible. Slow to bring food out or refill drinks a lot of the time. It is better on some nights. You never know. The place is dirty!!! I dread having to use the restroom. Last time it was painted neon pink and green???? Tried to do tepankai once and had to leave. Poor ventilation and way to hot in that room. I wish someone knew how to fix the place up and run it right because it could be a great success. Even with the bad things I am still giving the place 5 stars. I have never had better sushi any where. The staff is very nice. I have never gotten ill eating here. I have at fancy beautiful sushi restaurants oddly enough. You can taste the freshness. I have never been served anything bad in 8 years. Ty and Lee know my kids. Really friendly experience every time. Many sushi chefs never talk to you. I don't like that. Try this place knowing the way it looks leaves much to be desired.
